Dramatically more stable performance with Vulkan. DirectX is a nicer API, has better tooling and driver support. Microsoft sees DirectX as the future, not Vulkan. EDIT: Another option would be to learn Vulkan first, oddly - the high-level concepts are pretty similar. The best option is "probably" forcing directX10 instead of 11.
